Robert, you’ve actually “voyaged” with Star Trek: The Cruise every year since it first set sail! Is it possible to have a single favorite memory over the years?

I’m sorry, but it is NOT possible. I’ve had so many great fan interactions. It seems everyone aboard now knows I go by “Bob” and, as I stroll around the decks, I hear “Hey Bob!”, “Hi Bob—“ “Yo Doc — I mean Bob” everywhere I go.

I feel like the mayor of a small floating town.

If I had to pick a favorite performance memory, I would have to say doing the “Me and My Shadow” comedy sketch with Doug Jones.

What do you enjoy most about Star Trek: The Cruise, versus land-based fan events?

The cruise is way more relaxed. It is truly a unique experience for the fans and the actors. We are on an away mission together and the mission directive is to have fun.

In the past year, we’ve found out the Doctor has a new mission to help train the Prodigy pre-cadet intern kids. If they could all take a break from saving the Federation to enjoy a vacation, what do you think he would share with them about Earth’s oceans and a theme cruise like this one?

I would tell them to grow up quickly so they could come on Star Trek: The Cruise. There is a minimum age requirement, I’ve been told.

Can you give us a hint about anything new you might be bringing us in 2025?

I have started shooting Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and that is a late-career surprise and blast! The fans can guess whether I am a 900-year-old cadet or — ??

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Ironically, a doctor! —a real one, not a hologram.
