Get ready for an exclusive Q&A with Mary Wiseman from Star Trek: Discovery! Get to know Mary a little better and what she’s most excited for on Star Trek: The Cruise!

We’re excited to welcome you aboard your first Star Trek: The Cruise, Mary. What are you looking forward to the most among fans and the ports?

I’m looking forward to spending time with the fans and cast members in a totally new environment. I’ve never been on cruise before so this event will be a first for me. I love seeing new places with friends so I’m getting very excited.

As an avid tabletop RPGer, what game scenario and quest would you design that’s set aboard a fan cruise like ours?

I think an Agatha Christie type murder mystery could be a good setup because it’s a closed box. No one can get in or out because we’re at sea. Everyone is a suspect including our players.

We all remember meeting Tilly as that socially awkward cadet, early on in Discovery. If the 23rd Century still had Earth cruise ships, would she have braved a full one during summer break at the Academy — and what would be her activity of choice?

I think Tilly would want to meet and befriend as many people as possible so she would participate in every group event possible and probably burn herself out. I think she’d love karaoke and any crafts in particular.

What goal are you working toward right now?

I think right now my goal is to do a play soon. I’m getting the itch.

What are your hobbies and how did you get into them?

My hobbies are mainly craft-based. I sometimes refinish vintage furniture and my apartment is kind of an ongoing project for me- interior design wise. I’ve always loved vintage and antique goods. I think I get that from my Mom. She would show me family objects like a brass tea kettle or an old ring and tell me stories about where they came from. She would tell me about her mom, who I never met, by showing me the things that she treasured. I also like going to museums with friends and by myself. It’s good for the brain.
