Looking Back at 25 Years of Enterprise

Hey, cruisers!

If you’re looking ahead at the weekend’s stardates—specifically September 26th —you probably noticed a pretty major milestone: the official 25th anniversary of the premiere of Star Trek: Enterprise!

It’s hard to believe it’s been a quarter of a century since “Broken Bow” first aired in 2001, taking us back to the future (cross-franchise reference not intended) of 2151 to see humanity taking its very first, wobbly warp-5 steps into the unknown with a little tech, a lot of optimism and the very goodest boy in the universe named Porthos riding shotgun.

Over the last 25 years Enterprise has earned a deeply special place in the hearts of Trek fans. It gave us the origin story of the Federation, showed us what it took to build interspecies alliances from scratch, and proved that a starship held together by determination, competence, science, and “faith of the heart” could stand toe-to-toe with anything the universe threw at it.

And let’s be honest: nowhere is the love for the NX-01 stronger than aboard Star Trek: The Cruise. Whether it’s the legendary late-night elevator sing-alongs where an entire car of fans belt out the theme song at the top of their lungs, or seeing cruisers proudly rocking those classic blue NX-01 flight suits on the dance floor, or cosplaying as tied-up Trip and Malcom in their undies during one of the nightly meet-ups, the spirit of Enterprise is baked right into our shipboard DNA. It represents that pioneer excitement—that feeling of setting sail together into uncharted waters (especially if we’re in a tender port!).

It’s been a long road getting from there to here, so as we continue celebrating 60 years of the franchise and gear up for our 10th Anniversary sailing in 2027, taking a moment to look back at the humble beginnings of Starfleet reminds us just how far we’ve come as a crew.
