All World’s Day

Hey, cruisers!

As we sail toward the summer holidays, I’ve been thinking a lot about the work and school breaks we get (or should get) throughout the year. Especially the ones that are about the simple, glorious joy of being together. And that brings me to one of my new favorite stardates: All-Worlds Day.

If you’ve been keeping up with the new cadets over at Starfleet Academy, you know that All-Worlds Day is basically the Federation’s version of Spring Break. It’s a day dedicated to family, cooperation among the Federation’s many planets, and of course, eating!

In the 32nd century, Starfleet Academy cadets use this day to blow off some steam and celebrate the “United” part of the United Federation of Planets. But really, isn’t that what we do every single time we set sail? I like to think of Star Trek: The Cruise as a week-long, non-stop All-Worlds Day (minus the world or universe-saving shenanigans that tend to happen, of course).

Think about it: where else can you leave all of the worries and stress of your everyday life on land and sit at a table and share a meal with a Klingon, a Vulcan, a Bajoran, and maybe even a stray Ferengi or Federation Advisor (ahem ahem), and discuss the finer points of warp theory, who the best captain is, what your cosplay’s going to be for that night’s theme, and what your team’s strategy is for finding all of the Spocks during the Search for Spock Cryptic Clule Hunt?

All-Worlds Day, and the cruise, reminds us that despite our different home systems or whether we prefer gagh or gumbo, we are all part of the same crew.

It’s that spirit of togetherness and celebration that makes our cruise community so special. Whether you’re traveling with your biological or chosen family, or even the new friends you made while waiting to “washy-washy,” it’s all about honoring each other, and our mutual love of Star Trek. And let’s be honest, the “eating” part is something we’ve definitely mastered—we’ve all piled our plates at the (to date) replicator-free Windjammer buffet!

As we gear up for our 10th Anniversary sailing in 2027, I’m looking forward to the biggest All-Worlds celebration yet. Because at the end of the day, Star Trek isn’t just about the tech or the timelines—it’s about the people we share the journey with.

So, in the spirit of the holiday, tell me: what’s your favorite “all-worlds” meal to share with your fellow cruisers? Are you a plomeek soup girlie or a borscht bro? Whatever and however you celebrate your time off, I hope it’s filled with a few episodes of Star Trek, a full plate, and a full heart.
